Lucky Star! Craft Roulette #237

So many months ago, I decided if "Pop Up" ever ended up being one of the Craft Roulette parameters, I'd make a card out of a card box die set.   At first, I felt a little intimidated by "pop up" and knew, that this particular die would give me the components to a card that would lay flat in an envelope and "pop up" when taken out.  I used  Card Box Die Set  which was very easy to quickly to assemble.  So, when the parameter of "pop up" popped up, lol, I knew this was my STARt!

This week's parameters are:

I chose vampire costume colors, referred to "vogue", where you can find a "Vogue Boutique" and our Lucky Star character is wearing jewelry, all to fit into my "pop up" project!

Supplies used:

Card Basics Die Set  (Stars, Banner, and Ticket Shapes)
Card Box Die Set  (available for pre-order from Kindred)

Blonde Ambition  (Stamped Character, colored with alcohol markers)

This was a ton of fun to make, and I can think of many of my sorority sisters from way back when I could easily send one of these to!!!  I have had certain music playing in my mind ever since I started this.  I did NOT put my die back in my many dies box....  It most likely will be used in the near future, it was too much fun, and I promise, I'll never be intimidated by "pop up" again!  :)

"The Bard" Kindred Stamps October Release!!!

Today I'm sharing 2 ideas using a very fun set that is part of the Kindred Stamps October 2024 New Release.  I have so many ideas for  The Bard  and am still creating with this set, so more to come later!

My first is a card I made, which I have named "Bard Card".  This would be perfect for a graduate or someone who is GREAT in your life!  My Bard Card also features a very VERY versatile Kindred Stamps die set called Card Basics Die.  This die set includes 3 different sizes of stars, a stitched rectangle and square, circles,  ticket shapes, and accent banners too.  I've been looking for a handy star shape die especially, and this set is perfect for all kinds of projects with all the many components it has to offer!!!

My next project very well may end up being given as gifts to my book loving friends and family!  This particular notebook has 200 blank pages, so lots of opportunities to jot down thoughts. (Great for those in book clubs, students, even track those miles and expenses for tax purposes!)  It was so easy to make, and truly having supplies close by, I think it took all of 30 minutes to put together.  I used a Kindred alphabet die set called Stitched Alpha Die Set along with the Card Basics Die (I so wish I had his die set sooner, I can't emphasize enough how versatile it is!).  I have started doing a little more scrap booking lately, and the alphabet die set will come in very handy, so much easier than pulling out my old chunky dies, or agonizing over getting my teeny tiny alphabet title letters off of my very sticky cutting mat!

The Bard will be available on Friday, October 25 at 8am PST/11am EST , when the October New Release is launched.  There are daily sneak peeks, where you will find great ideas using this set and more.  You will want to watch closely each day this week in the Kindred Stamps Fan Club Facebook page or the Kindred Stamps blog

I used the following Kindred Stamps products:

The above are the affiliate links for the Kindred products I used to create these projects.  Should you choose to use these links, they are of no additional costs to you, just a quick way to find the products I used for my Bard Card and Bard Book.  In my craft life and professional life too, I like to support my favorite suppliers by sharing sources, plus there is a little something in it for me too if you do!

World Card Making Day!!!

Last weekend, crafters from all over the world,
celebrated and shared their paper passion on dedicated
 "World Card Making Day"!

I personally, enjoyed watching several talented (business) crafters spend 30 minutes each
on a day long special "Craft Roulette".  It was just perfect for me, to catch on YouTube, after the live,
and I learned something from each and every guest.  I can see where the concept of World Card Making has really taken off...so many wonderfully expert paper people out there...

Craft Roulette combined their weekly show (Episode 235) with the WCMD parameters, which were:

1.  Project:  Not a single fold A2.  /    Colors:  Mood Board  /  3.  Element:  World  /  4.  Stars

This wasn't the first time I made this type of a fold...
(scroll down to my Hansel and Gretel card, and my "Bugs" in wagon card)
Not sure why I'm always intimidated by unique folds...  They aren't hard, and the result is always fun...

I very much enjoyed pulling out the stamps from my Kindred Stamps Limited Edition Box
and creating my "universe" / "stars" / "aliens"  / "spaceman" card.  I do see me making extras of these,
I already have people in mind who to mail them to!

I made the background paper myself...with a roller on a gel plate...scanned the results and printed it out on my printer, on a gloss text paper.  I then sprinkled the paint splatters on the paper with white acrylic paint and a simple paint brush.  (I saw this done on WCMD, and gave it  a whirl myself...oh how fun!)

After the paper was dry, I was able to assemble the rest.
I do love me some Stardream Cardstock (I purchase at Cardstock Warehouse)

I see my inventory of all colors is growing and growing and growing.  I will warn you, however...you must use a dye ink to stamp on it, or it will SMEAR SMEAR SMEAR SMEAR.  I have tried to heat set it even and it's a smeary mess (for me) if you use any of my oxides, or other pigment type ink.  The dye ink dries fairly fast, however, and I love the fact I have many many dye inks from my Stamping UP! days!

What a fun week!

Stand by for my next post!!!  Craft Roulette rolls out in another couple of days, plus other fun!
