WINNIE!!!! What's not to absolutely LOVE about this famous bear and friends... He gives out hugs freely, is known for his heartfelt thoughts on friendship and love, and is a sweet as the sweetest honey found by honeybees in the 100 Acre Wood!
I have a giant assortment of Unity Winnie and Friends stamps, A Tender Thought was a fairly new one to me, I couldn't wait to ink it up for this week. What I find about the Winnies...they are super EASY to fussy cut and color. Not sure why Winnie is easier than any other character to do both cutting to the line, and getting a whimsical coloring look going on it...but for some reason, for me...I find both extremely effortless to do. It is for this reason, that when in a creative slump, lack of creative thought, or whatever the not being able to execute a card moment I may be going through...I know...perusing through my Winnie and Friends box...I will find something that will jump start all of the above.
If you look close, you will see, I also used the Honeycomb Chaos Background(er) on my panel, with the words of "OH, DEAR, OH, DEAR" stamped in a random pattern over the hexes. You can find this sentiment with the set: Winnie the Pooh: Oh, Dear, I've used it over and over and over again, I like stamping words on backgrounds like this. You may see it often in my designs.
My doily! I felt the need to put some "grounded" image behind Pooh, it just needed something. Not sure why a doily popped in my head...it may be because I was previously Whit Kitting, and one of the kits was sitting on my desk...which contained doilies. (I see a jingle there, Whit, Kit, Sit, Fit, not Quit, for a Bit)(Oh Silly Pooh) White was too harsh on my eyes for my earth tone colors, so I grabbed the first thing I saw to color the doily... I used my new Liquid Chrome Markers and turned white into gold. I then decided I needed a matching accent on the bottom of this card. I could have chosen anything to go in Pooh's paw...I thought long and hard, but, I was finishing this card up on Valentines Day, so...a heart popped into my head. A Pooh Accessory stamp set would be kind of cool for this set! I can think of all the Poohsibilities!
Silliness aside, for all you Pooh lovers and out there...I can't emphasize how great this line is. I have found myself using several Pooh stamps multiple times, and I adore all the friends too. If ever there is Pooh Kit through Unity, you better bet I'd be a Pooh Kitter, maybe I'd call myself a Poohky.
Again, all silliness aside here! Tomorrow is my last day of being a GIU guest. I will be featuring a design based on rules of a unique weekly challenge that sparked the creative life back into me a few years ago while going through some very hard life stuff. I'm still going through hard life stuff, but the value of having that "me time" has proven priceless ... I want to share it with you all. I find Unity Stamps are truly one of the best "go to" companies to use for this weekly challenge, so I challenged myself to do my final GIU 2026 card based on the current challenge. As I type this, it's still a work in process, this post is scheduled to post days before it actually does, so...I'll be as surprised as you will be of the outcome. So come back tomorrow, as I wrap up this fun week...you (we, I'm including me here too, lol) will have to see what actually gets put on card stock and ink!
Again...leaves comments! Leave one here, and my other social media platforms...there are 2 $20 gift credits being given away by random draw after my week is complete!
Thanks for stopping by!
