Kingston Crabbing!

What I'm loving about Craft Roulette, is that I'm crafting like I have never before...it's fun to play along in a challenge, and not have to go out "shopping" for supplies, because I have a small craft store in my craft room, and surrounding area...(I've moved supplies to the pool table, lol)

I really do need to start mailing some of my cards out...but, last week's Craft Roulette resulted in a keeper for me.  I dug into my real paper crafting passion, and made a scrapbook page using the 4 parameters.  Scrapbook pages is what got me started in this crazy paper obsession of mine....about 25ish years ago, although I did dabble a little here in there all along.  I really should go back to the "books"...it was fun to do something different, and parameters were perfect to journal/scrapbook our weekend getaway trip to Kingston, WA, where we spent a couple days visiting friends and spending time on the water.  The weather was perfect, and we managed to come home with some Dungeness and Red Rock crab to enjoy and share.  I even used supplies from the past...this page was exclusive Stamping Up! stamps, ink and card stock.  I have a couple beach related sets that  were a couple of my first purchases, and I've used over and over and over again throughout the years!

Episode 227, Unity Stamp Company Stamps

This week's challenge also featured water...and I used a Phyllis Harris image from a stamp purchased from Unity Stamp Company.  I absolutely LOVE her artistry, and own several of her stamps from Unity.  I tried some new supplies, and am still trying to master ink blending.  I'll get there.  In the meantime, I just kind of figured things out as I moved along, impulsively cutting, adhering, coloring, etc...and really enjoyed the process!  I interpreted one of the parameters a little differently than most, I kind of wish I had created the actual size 4x8 card, rather than a 4x8 scored and folded in half...I feel like I missed out on some really fun possibilities.  You should check out gallery 227, and you will see what I mean!!!

I can't believe I have almost submitted 50 cards/pages/projects (mostly cards) over the last year+.  I've really only skipped a couple of weeks here and there, mainly during my crazy busy holiday season, where I'm in the factory way too long each day, and I desperately need the sleep.  I think I missed a couple weeks here and there for other reasons too, but...it was mid June of 23 when I started, and I sure have enjoyed the ride!  My crafting/creating has actually gotten much easier for me to make decisions, and I'm tickled that I'm using so many supplies that never have seen ink ever....  It doesn't have to be Craft Roulette...it can be any challenge...  I'm glad I found one that was a good fit for me, I HIGHLY encourage anyone who might be in a slump, or needs some inspiration to get back in their craft room, to give it a whirl!

 Til next week...
